A beer run gone wrong landed a couple in a Weslaco jail.

Weslaco police said the couple rammed their car into the Weslaco Police Station off Airport Boulevard.

It left a gaping hole in the wall.

Police Officer Danny Elizondo told Action 4 News the couple first made a beer run at the Stripes convenience store on Mile 9 Road and FM 1015.

Shortly after, a patrol officer reportedly clocked the woman driver going 57 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone.

Police said the woman pulled over at the officer's signal.

When the officer approached, the woman sped off leading police on a chase.

Elizondo said it didn't last long.

The woman reportedly drove through the Weslaco Police Department parking lot, lost control and crashed into the building.

The woman was taken to Knapp Medical Center as a precaution.

Her name and the passenger's name have not yet been released.
