A jailed Cameron Park mother will be allowed to attend her son’s funeral on Friday.

Cameron County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrested 33-year-old Elena Isabel Rodriguez earlier this week.

The Cameron Park mother has been jailed after her 3-year-old son Francisco Avila died inside a hot car.

Family members did not hold a viewing for the boy on Thursday.

But the viewing will be Friday, July 8th from noon until 9 p.m. at the Guerra Funeral Home in Brownsville.

A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Friday.

The boy’s funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 9th.

Burial is expected to follow at the Guillen Family Cemetery in Brownsville.

The family is asking for donations to pay for funeral expenses.

They can be made at the funeral home:
