Big demerit totals for some big name restaurants in the Valley.
People who eat out said they were shocked to learn about the dirty dining at their favorite eateries.
The Food Patrol exposed Carino’s Italian restaurant in Brownsville, Chili’s in Weslaco along with House of China in north McAllen for the second time this year.
Carino’s on 2600 North Expressway 77 was busted by kitchen cops with 25 demerits.
One of the violations included evidence of rodent contamination.
An inspector noted on the health report about “chewed wood.”
Chili’s on 1412 West Expressway 83 racked up 27 demerits as the dirtiest this week.
The restaurant was also busted with insect contamination that included flies and a dead roach.
