A man accused of robbing a bank in downtown Brownsville has been arrested in Kansas City, Missouri.

U.S. Marshalls arrested 30-year-old Eric Gabriel Morales on Tuesday.

The bank robbery took place at the First National Bank off East Levee Street late Friday afternoon.

Investigators told Action 4 News that Morales left Brownsville on a passenger bus Monday afternoon.

Morales was allegedly headed for Iowa but was arrested in Kansas City.

Investigators said someone watching a local television newscast about the bank robbery recognized Morales.

Police said the tip lead to Morales' arrest.

Investigators said Morales had a minor criminal history.

His last known address was off Calle Terrestre in northwest Brownsvile.
