A Wimberly boy is back home and safe after authorities issued an Amber Alert to find him.

Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) officials issued the Amber Alert for 13-year-old Dakota Shane Thompson of Wimberly early Monday morning.

Details about the boy's abduction were not immediately available but the alert was requested by the Hays County Sheriff's Department.

Thompson is believed to be with 35-year-old Christopher Brian Perry in a red Ford Mustang with Texas license plates BT6-B334.

Authorities reported shortly after 10:30 a.m. Monday that Thompson was found safe.
