One of the Rio Grande Valley's Most Wanted men is behind bars after he ran out of money while on the run in Mexico.

Carlos Vela, Jr. is accused of shooting a woman in the head in Olmito back in April 2009.

It all started as a dispute between neighbors and turned violent.

Cameron County Sheriff's Department deputies said Vela fled to Mexico with the help of son shortly after the shooting.

But investigators said he ran out of money and returned to the United States last week.

Vela is behind bars at the Cameron County Jail under $115,000 dollars in bonds for aggravated assault and tampering with evidence charges.
