A bill in the Texas senate seeks to strip Jim Solis' name from a Harlingen building.

The local attorney and former state representative recently pleaded guilty to his in a corruption scandal involving former 404th State District Judge Abel Limas.

Texas State Senator Eddie Lucio, Jr. (D-Brownsville) recently filed the bill.

He's seeking to remove Solis' name from a building at the Rio Grande State Center.

The mental health center is located off Rangerville Road in Harlingen.

Lucio's son, Texas State Rep. Eddie Lucio III (D-San Benito), originally filed a bill to honor both Solis and former Harlingen Mayor Bill Card.

But after Solis' guilty plea, Senator Lucio is seeking to remove Solis' name from the building and just keep former Mayor Card's name only.

Senator Lucio said it hurt him to file the bill but believes it's the right thing to do.

What do you think?
Do you think Jim Solis' name should be kept off the building at the Rio Grande State Center?
