A driver zapped for using a cell phone in a clearly marked La Joya school zone, went on a foul-mouthed rant at the Speedzapper.

The Speedzapper asked Mission police to beef up patrol Tuesday afternoon outside Jose de Escandon Elementary School on 700 North Schuerbach Road.

There were numerous reports on the Action 4 News Listens Line about speeders and cell phone violators.

Nearly half a dozen tickets were issued during a 30 minute stretch after school.

One motorist caught breaking the cell phone law threatened the Speedzapper if he aired footage of the interview.

Parents were stunned to hear the vulgar language at the school but not about the ignored cell phone law.

Violators face up to a $200 fine.
