A Santa Rosa man is facing criminal charges after he allegedly molested a girl he met on the social networking website MySpace.

McAllen police arrested 31-year—old Billy Joe De La Fuente on an indecency with a child by contact charge on Tuesday.

Investigators told Action 4 News that De La Fuente met the girl on MySpace and that he had inappropriate sexual contact with her.

Police said the girl came forward with the allegations on Friday.

Detectives investigated the case and were able to track De La Fuente down on Tuesday.

De Le Fuente appeared before a McAllen municipal court judge on Tuesday where he was issued a $75,000 dollar bond.

Public records show that the Santa Rosa’s man last known address was off South Highway 506. He did not appeared to have a criminal record.

Under state law, indecency with a child by contact is punishable from two to 20 years in prison and/or a $20,000 dollar fine.
