It's not everyday an NFL player cruises the halls of a Rio Grande Valley elementary school, but when that player is Rio Hondo's own Roberto Garza, it's like the entire Chicago Bears team is in town.

The offensive lineman for the Bears shook the little hands of hundreds of students at Sam Houston Elementary in La Feria.

He also took time to read to students during Texas Public Schools Week, something Garza says is important for every child who wants to succeed.

The students at Sam Houston in La Feria gave Robert a huge reception and cheered as he ran through the hallways slapping hands as he does his own teammates.

Robert will return to Chicago soon to begin training for next season with the Chicago Bears.
