Police don't know who he is---but they know who hired him.

San Juan police told Action 4 News that Jaime Moreno Alonzo hired a hitman to kill his ex-girlfriend.

Investigators said Alonzo told the man to go and 'shoot up' his ex-girlfriend’s house in the 800 block of Mesquite Street.

According to police, the unidentified man drove up to the home in a silver Chevrolet Malibu hatchback and got out carrying a shotgun.

The man shot five rounds into the home and then left the scene.

Investigators said the man's image was caught on a surveillance camera and that there was luckily no one inside the home at the time of the attack.

Police said Alonzo has warrants for his arrests on both sides of the border.

"He is hiding in Reynosa,” said San Juan Police Sgt. Rudy Luna. “He is not crossing over for that reason."

Police aren't sure if the gunman has any ties to local gangs in the area.

They said the victim is pretty shaken up and staying with friends until the case is solved.

Anyone with information on the case, is asked to call the San Juan Crime Stoppers hotline at (956) 283-TIPS.
