McAllen police report arrest in 17th Street District double shooting

Authorities have made an arrest in a shooting in the 17th Street nightclub district that left two young men hospitalized.

McAllen police arrested 19-year-old Robert Jason Garcia on four aggravated assault charges on Wednesday.

Garcia is accused of taking part of a shooting that took place off Erie Avenue and Bicentennial Boulevard early Saturday morning.

Investigators told Action 4 News that it all started with an argument between two groups of men at a nightclub in the 17th Street District.

The victims were leaving in their car when the suspects opened fire injuring the driver and a passenger.

The car crashed into a stop sign. Both the men, ages 21 and 22 years old, remain hospitalized.

McAllen police did not say how Garcia was connected to the case but reported that they are looking for more suspects.
