Valley ticketholders have called the sudden cancellation of Katt Williams appearance in Harlingen -- no laughing matter.

The comedian, rapper and actor was scheduled to appear at the Harlingen Municipal Auditorium on July 16th, as host of "The Still Blingin' Tour."

Noe Guerra paid $115 for two tickets.

"Everybody wanted to see Katt Williams-- it's just not totally right," the man from McAllen said.

Marjai Entertainment is the show's local promoter.

The company is based out of McAllen.

Its website no longer features Katt Williams as host.

Comedian Paul Rodriguez is now the face of the event online.

David Brown, Chairman of Marjai Entertainment, said the change in venue was out of his hands.

"We do apologize for the inconvenience and we did notify everyone according to laws and regulations upon us receiving the info he would not attend," Brown said.

Guerra said he received word from Marjai Entertainment via email.

It stated the cancellation was due to “medical reasons beyond their control”... and that no refunds would be given unless the event was canceled or postponed.

"I don't know if they did it just to sell the tickets and switch it up at the end," Guerra said.

So is this a clear, unfunny case of bait and switch?

We asked Brown to show us proof the famous comedian even agreed to host the show.

A letter sent to Action 4 News read in part how the cancellation was “due to an uncontrollable scheduling conflict”... not illness... and that fans should focus “not on one particular person”... rather the “large variety of celebrity acts.”

Marjai Entertainment was even cleared of fault.

But the letter we originally received, reportedly from “The Still Blingin’ Tour,” wasn't signed or dated, and didn't come on company letter head.

"We were brought in as the official marketing company for this event,” said Brown.  “We do not control the aspect of this event."

Marjai Entertainment has offered ticketholders free entrance to an unnamed show at a later date.
