A Brownsville man is behind bars after he allegedly admitted to molesting a 10-year-old while they were watching a "telenovela" together.

Cameron County Sheriff's Department deputies arrested Cecilio Tomas Hernandez on an indecency with a child by contact charge on Friday.

Deputies said the alleged incident happened back in February the girl only recently made an outcry to authorities.

Hernandez allegedly admitted to the incident during an interview with deputies.

He allegedly told investigators he and the girl were watching a Spanish-language soap opera at the time of the incident.

Hernadez allegedly told deputies he touched the girl inappropriately and that she told him to stop.

The 27-year-old Brownsville man told investigators that he realized what he did was wrong and left the house where the girl lived.

Hernandez appeared before Cameron County Magistrate Judge Luis Saenz on Friday where he received a $35,000 dollar bond.

He remains in custody at the Cameron County Jail.
