A Mercedes municipal judge is facing legal trouble after getting arrested for what state troopers said is his third DWI.
A Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) spokesman told Action 4 News Rogelio Garcia was pulled over in Harlingen for speeding over the weekend.
Investigators said Garcia failed a field sobriety test and refused to give a breath sample.
State troopers said he appeared highly intoxicated was arrested under suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Authorities took a blood sample from Gracia but lab results remain pending.
Officials confirmed that Garcia works as an attorney and a municipal judge for the City of Mercedes.
Garcia was booked into jail and released on the same day.
The Mercedes municipal judge faces a felony DWI charge because it’s his third such arrest on his record.
