Governor Rick Perry has appointed Bryan Tucker of Childress to the Texas Department of Rural Affairs. His term will expire February 1, 2011. The department supports community development, educational and leadership opportunities, and healthcare for rural areas of Texas.

Tucker is the Childress city manager and owner of Jachin Construction. He is a past volunteer with Mission Arlington, and past football and basketball coach for the YMCA of Arlington. Tucker received a bachelor's degrees in marketing and management from Texas Tech University.
