Daylight savings time has always been tricky along the U.S./Mexico border but it may soon be getting easier.
Clocks in the United States and Mexico have historically been off by one hour for a few weeks out of the year due to differing daylight savings dates for the two nations.
Americans "spring forward" this weekend but Mexico doesn't do so until Sunday, April 4th.
But that has changed for some Mexican cities along the border.
According to Time & Temperature's website, the following 10 Mexican cities are adopting the American dates:
- Matamoros, Tamaulipas
- Reynosa, Tamaulipas
- Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas
- Anahuac, Nuevo Leon
- Acuna, Coahuila
- Piedras Negras, Coahuila
- Ojinaga, Chihuahua
- Juarez, Chihuahua
- Mexicali, Baja California
- Tijuana, Baja California
Mexico's congress passed legislation in December 2009 which allowed the 10 cities to adopt the American standard to make life less disruptive.
Daylight savings for the United States and the 10 border cities will end on November 7th, the first Sunday of that month.
