Authorities have released the identity of a carjacking suspect who was able to flee from McAllen police during a weekend chase.
McAllen police told Action 4 News that 31-year-old Rene Garcia Sandoval faces aggravated robbery and evading arrest charges.
Garcia is accused of carjacking a 1999 Infinity SUV at the corner of West Oakland and South Bicentennial Boulevard on Friday afternoon.
The 31-year-old suspect allegedly led police on a chase to Mission where he bailed out of the car and fled on foot.
McAllen police said Garcia remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.
He’s described as a 31-year-old Hispanic male, 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds.
