The Speedzapper gets help from cops in the Queen City of the Rio Grande Valley

The Speedzapper brought reinforcements to a Mercedes School zone.

Officer Jerry Martinez, a patrolman with the Mercedes Police Department, joined our efforts to “zap” speeders outside the Mercedes Early Childhood Center near 6th Street and Indiana Avenue.

And while a few people were caught speeding and ticketed for driving over the 20 mile per hour speed limit, it was a Mercedes mother who took the cake for worst violation.

Officer Martinez busted Felicia Villarreal for not properly restraining her 3-year-old.
