An Edinburg man who escaped from a state prison near Austin has been caught across the border from Del Rio.

Adan Chavez escaped from the Bastrop Minimum Security Prison Camp on Friday, November 20th.

Both 53-year-old Chavez and 52-year-old Leandro Luna stole a Bureau of Prisons vehicle during their escape attempt.

News 8 Austin is reporting that both men are now behind bars after being located in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila on Thanksgiving Day.

The Mexican border city is located across from the Texas town of Del Rio.

Chavez was first imprisoned in 1990 when he was sentenced to 30 years for cocaine and weapon charges.

Luna serving a decade-long term for importing marijuana in a 2006 drug conviction.

Both men are expected to be extradited back to Central Texas to face charges.

To be free and then recaptured.. LOL.. what a rollercoaster of anxiety for those two clowns. Kudos to our brothers in law enforcement on the other side.
