Marijuana by mail scheme foiled in Harlingen

Harlingen police have busted up an alleged marijuana by mail scheme with the arrests of four men from Hidalgo County.

Invsetigators told Action 4 News that drug officers the the four men had tried to use a shipping service to send 11 pounds of marijuana in a package.

Harlingen police identified the suspsects as:

  • Juan Garcia, 29
  • Alejandro Zuniga, 30
  • Evelio Rios Garcia, 34
  • Juan M. Quiroz, 35

Authorities said Garcia, Zuniga and Rios Garcia are from Elisa while Quiroz is from neighoring La Blanca.

The four remain in custody under bonds ranging from $8,000 to $10,000 dollars.

Action 4 News will have a complete report tonight at 10 p.m.
