Harlingen police are investigating a two-car wreck involving a mini-van registered to a local adult day care center.

The accident happened at the corner of East Grime Avenue and North 13th Street at 8:43 a.m.

The accident remains under investigation but officers believe a Chevy Lumina hit a Chrysler Voyager mini-van belonging to La Familia Adult Day Care.

Officers believe the Chevy Lumina was traveling west on Grimes Avenue but failed to yield the right-of-way while making a turn onto 13th Street.

Harlingen Police Sgt. John Parrish said that the driver of the Chevy Lumina and the mini-van were taken to the Valley Baptist Medical Center for treatment.

Their conditions and exact injuries were not available as of late Wednesday morning.

Action 4 News has learned that the Chevy Lumina was last registered to Refugia L. Barrera of FM 508 in Harlingen.

The Chrysler Voyager was registered to Shariah Perakathu and La Familia Adult Day Care.

Action 4 News called La Familia Adult Day Care but Perakathu could not immediately be reached for comment.
