Three men remain behind bars after authorities seized more than 1,680 pounds of marijuana at a broccoli and carrot warehouse in McAllen.

U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agents arrested Cesar Manuel Martinez-Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez-Garcia and Rodrigo Bravo-Montoya on federal drug charges Sunday.

Court records in their case show that Martinez-Rodriguez rented a warehouse off Business 83 and Ware Road in McAllen.

A tip led DEA agents to perform surveillance on Martinez-Rodriguez.

Agents arrived at the warehouse at dusk on Sunday when the men were allegedly loading and unloading an 18-wheeler in the dark.

A search of a the warehouse’s cooler revealed 119 bundles with more than 1,680 pounds of marijuana inside.

All three men remain in custody after appearing before U.S. Magistrate Court Judge Peter Ormsby on Tuesday where they were denied bond until a Friday morning hearing.
