WESLACO, TEXAS -- The Weslaco City Council has narrowed its list of city manager candidates to four people.

The list includes William Mueller from Brownsville, who currently runs a maquiladora plant in the Reynosa-Matamoros area; Frank Castellanos, who served as Weslaco City Manager from 1997 to 2003 and is responsible for much of the city's growth; Richard Cannone from Florida and Daniel Rodriguez Junior from California.

A new city manager should be named within a week or two.
