HIDALGO COUNTY, TEXAS -- The Hidalgo County Sheriff's Department busted a ring of men posing as fake cops Thursday.

Deputies are still looking for more suspects.

They arrested Eduardo Varela and Rafael Saenz.

The men are accused of storming into a home north of Mercedes earlier this month and posing as FBI agents.

The suspects allegedly took a 2003 BMV.

Investigators said Varela and Saenz implicated five other men.

"Ricardo Guzman known as 'El Borrado' may be a former Mexican police officer who also had a district job to recruit illegal immigrants to participate in these home invasions," explained Sheriff Lupe Treviño.

Sheriff Treviño said all the wanted men are armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts should call the Hidalgo County Crime Stoppers line at (956)668-TIPS.
