MISSION, TEXAS -- A La Joya teacher was arrested Thursday for allegedly having an improper relationship with a student.

Osiel Armando Muñoz was charged in Mission.

Counselors at Palmview High School contacted police about the relationship after the 17-year-old alleged victim made an outcry in their office.

"We were contacted by the La Joya ISD police department in reference to an improper student teacher relationship," said Mission Sgt. Jody Tittle.  "They began the investigation at their agency, where it was revealed that the incident occurred inside the Mission city limits."

Muñoz received a $200,000 bond.

He is currently being held at the Hidalgo County Jail.
