(AP) -- A South Texas legislator under indictment for not disclosing sources of income, real estate transactions and gifts has announced that he won't seek re-election next year.
State Rep. Kino Flores says in a prepared statement Tuesday that the indictments influenced his decision not to seek an eighth term.
The Palmview Democrat was first elected in 1996.
A Travis County grand jury in Austin returned six indictments against Flores in July.
They include 16 counts of tampering with a government record and three of perjury.
