PALMVIEW, TEXAS -- A suspected human smuggler died Monday after he was run over near Palmview.
Mission police said the driver of a red F-250 was carrying about 15 illegal immigrants through a brushy area south of Bentsen Palm Drive and Business 83.
Police said the 25-year-old driver bailed out of the vehicle, and in the process, was run over and killed.
"The vehicle was found already in the brushy area," explained Asst. Chief Martin Garza. "We believe the driver might have exited the vehicle as it was rolling and moving and caught himself under the vehicle."
