Hijackers demanded to speak with President Calderon

A group of South American men are in custody after hijacking a plane loaded with 104 passengers from Cancun.

The hijacked Aermexico flight landed in Mexico City where gunmen demanded to speak with Mexican President Felipe Calderon.

Mexico's El Milenio newspaper reported the plane was scheduled to leave Cancun's airport at 11:40 a.m. Wednesday.

The plane landed in Mexico City shortly after 2 p.m. where hijackers believed to be Bolivian demanded to speak with Calderon.

El Milenio reported that Aeromexico Fligh 576 from Cancun had 104 passengers.

Televisa reported that all the passengers were freed.

One woman interviewed on live television reported that she did not even realize anything had happened until after they landed and she saw federal police.

The men claimed to have a bomb but Televisa reported that no explosive device was found aboard the plane.

Televisa reported that the hijackers were taken into custody without a single shot being fired.

Mexico City's International Airport remained closed and sealed while continued to unfold.
