Indian immigrants caught in La Joya chase

Authorities are searching for an alleged human smuggler after a Wednesday morning chase yieled illegal immigrants from India.

La Joya police told Action 4 News that the chase began around 7 a.m. Wednesday.

The chase ended in the neighboring City of Peñitas where the smuggler and illegal immigrants bailed out.

Authorities have identified the alleged smuggler but have not caught him at this time.

Illegal immigrants from India who were inside the car have been turned over to the custody of the U.S. Border Patrol.
