A summer festival in honor of a Brownsville pastor killed in a plane crash got a huge turnout.

New Harvest Ministries hosted the festival today on its Alton Gloor church grounds in Brownsville.

The celebration ended around six o'clock this evening, in memory of Pastor Ralph Copeland.

Dozens of businesses donated back to school supplies for children, that were handed out at the festival.

"In his memory and in his heart because this is what he loved to do. He loved to give back to the communities and giving and helping out where he could, and this is what this church's whole mission is," said Aaron Voreis, who survived the crash.

Copeland died July 3rd, 2009 in a small plane crash in Weslaco.
