A Lyford store clerk is speaking out after being held up at gunpoint.

It happened late Sunday night at the Lyford Superette Convenience Store off U.S. Expressway 77.

Surveillance video shows the robbery with customers inside and the suspect making off with $500 dollars.

A Willacy County Sheriff's Department investigator said the entire robbery lasted only about 30 seconds.

Action 4 News spoke with a clerk who said she fears the gunman might return.

"Luckily he didn't shoot anybody but you never know he could have killed somebody,” Amelia Reyna said. “I think it would be better if they just caught up with him and got him off the streets"

Authorities said the suspect is described as an Hispanic man with a small, thin build.

He was last seen wearing a dark long sleeve shirt with blue jeans and a baseball cap.

He's believed to be in his early 20s.

Anyone with information should call the willacy county sheriff's department at 64-crime or 642-7463.
