MCALLEN, TEXAS -- The number of complaints filed against National Furniture Liquidators on 2246 Nolana Avenue in McAllen is growing.

The Better Business Bureau listed seven in the last 36 months for things like poor service and failure to deliver goods.

Alfonso Rodriguez from Edinburg said he plans to be the eighth person to file a complaint against the furniture store.

He claims the business has yet to deliver living room furniture he bought for $8,000 back in May.

The list of purchased items on credit included a sofa, love seat, chaise lounge, cocktail table and end tables.

"I bought it on a Sunday.  They told me in four days they were going to deliver the furniture and I've been waiting 11 weeks," said Rodriguez.

He calls it a long time to wait when delivery is listed on an invoice as “A.S.A.P.”

The teacher showed us how the living room at his home remains empty.

He has since filed a police report and fears he's been victimized by a store going out of business.

"I call the furniture store basically every single day.  I don't know what else to do.  That's why I called channel 4," he said.

A record check on National Furniture Liquidators turned up an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB.

The consumer watchdog agency gave the business an “F” citing a variety of factors.

The assistant manager on duty Monday afternoon would not speak on camera and refused to look up Alfonso Rodriguez’s case when we inquired about delivery concerns.

While Rodriguez believes he may be out his deposit and other monthly payments, he hopes his story will prevent other potential buyers from becoming what he describes as “victims.”

"I don't recommend this furniture store to anyone,” he said.

Based on BBB's file, this business has a BBB Rating of F for reasons that include:

· BBB does not have sufficient information to determine how long this business has been operating

· Failure to respond to 6 complaints filed against business

· 1 complaint filed against business that was not resolved

· BBB does not have sufficient background information on this business

1 regarding Service issues - Closed; No Response

In April 2009, when this company was running a going out of business sale, BBB checked with the Hidalgo County Appraisal district to make sure that the company has filed their sale with them.

The BBB was told that the company was properly registered.
