The American diabetes association hosted a family fun day at the Edinburg municipal park.
The day started with a 5-k run/walk and the kids were then split up in to teams where they learned fun ways to eat right and stay healthy.
The biggest part of the event was the diabetes education.
Children had the opportunity to learn about what causes diabetes and what they can do to keep it under control.
This is the first year of the event and because of its success, HEB and the American Diabetes Association plan on doing it again next year.
