For Valley residents with a ticket in Pharr, Wednesday is the day to pay up.
The City of Pharr is offering an amenesty program to citizens with outstanding warrants or tickets.
Those who pay their fines in full before April 15, can avoid paying extra fees.
But after April 15, anyone who hasn't paid can be arrested.
Pharr Municipal Court Judge Rodolfo "Rudy" Martinez said some outstanding tickets date back to 1995.
"During the amnesty program they can show up, if there is an arrest warrant, that would be set aside," Martinez said. "The failure to appear charge would be waved, that fine, they pay only the original fine, and for that reason people are showing up, and i'm glad that people are showing up taking advantage of that program."
The program's goal is to eliminate a backlog of cases.
