Barricaded San Benito man identified as Gulf War veteran

A San Benito man is getting help after he barricaded himself inside his home with tanks of gasoline and a gun.

The standoff stook place on Wentz Street where authorities evacuated the entire block.

The Cameron County SWAT team and San Benito police worked to get the man out safely.

Authorities identified the barricaded man as Gulf War veteran Alex Leal.

Officials said Leal surrendered shortly after police rammed in his front door.

Authorities said Leal is suffering from a post tramatic stress disorder and failed to take his medication.
