Brownsville police have released the identities, charges and mugshots of three men who started a brawl Thursday's Charro Days parade.

Investigators said 17-year-old Oscar Pantoja started the melee when he allegedly tried to attack 17-year-old Francisco Sanchez with nunchuks.

Pantoja allegedly hit Sanchez from behind but also hit 23-year-old Jose Reyes and his 4-year-old daughter with the martial arts weapons.

Police quickly arrested Pantoja.

Officers arrested Reyes after he allegedly kicked Pantoja while he was being led away in handcuffs.

Police also arrested 19-year-old Armando Rodriguez and three juveniles for fighting during the parade at East 10th and Elizabeth Streets.

Authorities in Texas do not release the names of juveniles arrested for crimes.

Jail records show that Pantoja was charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, injury to a child and disorderly conduct.

Reyes was charged with Class A misdemeanor assault.

Many people reported hearing shooting during the incident but Brownsville police said those rumors are false.

Charro Days organizers said festivities will continue through the weekend as planned.
