A manual recount is underway for two candidates separated by one vote.

The Cameron County Pct. 1 Constable's race ended with Democrat incumbent Horacio Zamora keeping the seat.

Zamora won with one vote but Republican challenger Pedro "Pete" Delgadillo is demanding a manual recount.

Delgadillo asserts that he won the race.

The manual recount started at Cameron County's Dancy Building in downtown Brownsville at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Action 4 News will provide more information as the results become available.
