SAN BENITO -- Early Thursday morning police received a frantic phone call from an employee at Galaxy Arcade in San Benito.

"The attendant had just opened up for the day and she was the only one inside the business.  She went to the back room to start making preparations for the business and she heard some voices up front," detailed San Benito Police.

Lt. Martin Morales says two men, wearing red bandanas, sunglasses, a cap and armed with guns, walked into this arcade.

The men assaulted the employee by pushing her, pulling her hair and then demanded cash.

They crooks made off with over  3-thousand dollars in cash.

Lt. Morales warns that this is becoming a scary trend.

"It seems like that is the in thing right now.  Arcades are being targeted," said lt. Morales

One probable reason for the attacks is lack of security.

"The places that we know of don't have video surveillance and there's no security on duty.  That makes it a pretty easy target," said Morales

This is the second arcade burglary to hit San Benito this year.

Police say this latest burglary is a sign of a worrisome craze and warn arcade owners to be on the look out.
