Free health and dental care is coming to the Rio Grande Valley.

It's all courtesy of Operation Lone Star.

It's an annual effort by the Texas military units.

The group goes into local communities to provide free medical services to the thousands who do not have health insurance.

Operation Lone Star will run from July 28th through August 8th.

Eight medical sites will be set up across seven South Texas counties, including two sites in Hidalgo County.

The services include immunizations, sports physicals, blood pressure screenings and more.

"There's no questions asked regarding eligibility, regarding their income, regarding their citizenship, it is just a humanitarian effort where all these folks come together to help those in need," said organizer Dagoberto Garza.
