A Florida man is behind bars after customs officers learned he was wanted for the rape of elderly person.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers arrested Crescencio Rojas at the Veterans International Bridge in Brownsville earlier today.

Customs officers said the 43-year-old Mexican national was traveling aboard a bus coming from Mexico.

A routine database check revealed that Rojas had a warrant for sexual assault from Dade County, Florida.

Rojas is accused of sexual assault, battery and lewd and libidinous acts against an elderly person.

The 43-year-old man remains in custody in the Cameron County Jail awaiting extradition to Florida.
