A Hidalgo County woman issued a Call 4 Action after her daughter was attacked by a neighbor’s pitbull but authorities can't find the animal.

Yolanda Camarena told Action 4 News that her neighbor's pitbull was wandering their street.

The dog allegedly saw her daughters Samantha and Sabrina and charged them.

The pitbull allegedly bit her younger daughter Sabrina on the back of her thigh.

"I just heard like the dog coming and it ran and it bite me and it dropped me to the floor,” Sabrina told Action 4 News.

Samantha was able to scare the animal away but the neighbor is now claiming the dog is not his and the pitbull is missing.

In the meantime, animal control is looking for the pitbull to prevent someone else from getting seriously hurt.

Authorities still don't know if the dog has had its rabies shots.

you are unjustly categorizing the Boxer breed with Pitbulls, they are nothing alike. Obviously you have never owned one. They are the most obedient, loyal to their owner:adult/child. You need to get educated and experienced with the breed before you smear them!!

All dogs that are not house dogs shouuld be restrained unless they are in the owners fenced yard.
ANY dog can turn on ANYONE in the blink of an eye for no reason at all. But, yes pitbulls are well known for their aggressive behavior. If you don't believe me just GOOGLE "Pitbull Attacks" and you will be shocked at the amount of hits that you get.

dogs on the loose

The owner is solely responsible for the action of the dog. If they'd watched over the animal as they should have, it would not have been loose. Those type of dogs should always be tied up and behind a fence. Time after time, there are reports of pitbull attacks. They don't have to be enticed to do that, they are naturally like that. Also, if the owner trains him to be that way . . . . need I say more?

Not the dog's fault?

Ultimately it's not the dog's fault. The fault is that of the owner. The way they raise their dogs is the way their dog's will act. That dog should have been chained up or locked up behind a fence. Then you have to realize that these dogs are vicious animals. Say what you want, but it is a fact that these dogs are aggressive animals. Alot of my neighbors have pit bulls, and let me tell you that if they ever step on my yard, I will shoot them! I will never allow the risk of any of my children to be attacked. I see my neighbors making those dogs to be vicious. State law should mandate citizens who own pitbulls, boxers and rotweillers to fence these dogs up with proper fencing. The saddest thing to happen to a child (or any person) is to have your life taken by a dog...

where are mothers these days!

first of all its not the dogs fault!
the fault is the mother of the child and the owner of the pitbull....if the mother is not watching her child thats a risk the mother is willing to take as well as the owner of the dog because its also a risk he is willing to take by letting the dog roam the streets...so its a risk those people are taking....a dog will not attack for no reason....who knows maybe the girls got scared when they saw the dog and did something like maybe threw a rock at the dog and the dog got scared so maybe he was protecting himself but its not the dogs fault but the mother and the owner! the mother needs to be with her child at all times! and the owner of the dog needs to keep his dog fenced! by the way where was the mother at? im glad the childis ok though and that nothing bad happened to her and i hope the pitbull buul appears although maybe someone might have done something bad to it but hoepfully not cause it will be so sad!
