Get them before they're gone! Tickets are now on sale for the Mega Purse Event, benefiting the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley.

The event is an extravaganza of purse and accessory shopping, music, food, massages and silent auctions.

Victoria Gomez and Special Events Manager Karen Featherston stopped by Action 4 Sunrise to give you more details about this cause.

The Mega Purse Event helps support the Food Bank of the RGV's School Tools program. Prior to the event, the community is encouraged to donate gently used or new: purses, jewelry, belts, scarves, sunglasses and accessories at local businesses or by contacting Featherston at (956) 904-4513.

Drop off locations for donations include: The Food Bank RGV, The Monitor, Maripoza Boutique, RGV Cupcake Factory, Hammond Vision Center, Carwash Carwash (Valley wide), Boot Jack (Valley wide), Illuminati Salone Aris Milan, and Lionel's Western Wear.  More details on our website.

Tickets to the event are $25 and are on sale now at foodbankrgv.com or by calling during business hours at (956) 682-8101. It will take place February 8 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Food Bank RGV location at 724 N. Cage in Pharr.
