Ask any parent, their primary concern is for the safety of their children.

Each day, the internet opens them to possible connections with people they don't know on the other side of the screen.

Besides online predators, other recent cases have opened our eyes to other dangers that lurk.

Dr. Jerald Hughes from the University of Texas Pan-American, joined Action 4 Sunrise to discuss ways to protect your kids and other family members.

A few tips given by Dr. Hughes include: safeguarding programs on your home computer, read 'privacy policies', talk with children about online safety and keep your computer in an open area.
