More than 100 people crammed into Rio Hondo's City Commission Room on Thursday, Jan. 18.

The public meeting was held in regards to a proposed liquid waste facility on the Arroyo Colorado. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality hosted the meeting.

A company wants to partner with the city's waste water department to build a facility in the area. Opponents fear wildlife will be impacted by the waste it dumps in the water.

There are still more steps before a decision is in on whether the project gets the green light.
