Authorities confirmed that three women have died from complications attributed to the influenza virus.

The Corpus Christi Caller-Times reported that three women ages 65-85 years old have died in the past two weeks.

An Action 4 News investigation revealed that nearly two dozen children have died in Texas from the complications due to the influenza virus this flu season.

The Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District confirmed the three women's deaths on Tuesday.

State health officials say the flu season hasn’t even peaked yet in Texas.

Medical experts are urging the public to get vaccinated against the flu.
