Long Elementary School in Harlingen came together to support the students in Newtown, Connecticut.

Children from Kindergarten to 5th grade have been making, coloring and cutting out snowflakes to send to the children of Sandy Hook Elementary.

Sandy Hook students will be starting school in a nearby town and Long Elementary wants them to be able to go back to school in a winter wonderland.

Thousands of students are participating nationwide to remember the victims of the Sandy Hook massacre and to support the survivors.

Long Elementary will be sending an estimated 200 snowflakes.
