Double home invasion reported north of Edcouch

Authorities are looking for half a dozen armed men accused of participating in a double home invasion near Edcouch.

It all happened at a property with two separate homes off Monte Cristo Road near FM 1015 early Saturday morning.

Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating the incident.

Investigators told Action 4 News that the gunmen arrived at the property and split up into two groups.

The armed men went into both homes demanding cash.

Investigators said one of the suspects was wearing a SWAT team hat.

Two people were injured with both of them receiving cuts to the head and face.

Deputies confirmed that the suspects were able to make off with some weapons.

The incident remains under investigation.
