Three people are now facing criminal charges in connection to a domestic violence incident that ended with a baby boy being beaten.

Investigators told the baby's father Erik Luna is the main suspect and now behind bars where he's facing multiple criminal charges.

Police said Luna was drunk and got upset that his one and a half year son wouldn’t stop crying on Friday night.

Luna allegedly picked the baby boy up by his ribs and grabbed them so hard that he left bruises.

The Raymondville man allegedly slapped the baby and spanked him numerous times.

Luna allegedly punched the boy's mother giving her a black eye when she tried to intervene and stop him.

The 22-year-old father fled the scene but investigators received tips via telephone and Facebook that he was staying at his brother's house in Lasara.

Police arrested both Luna and his brother.

Luna is facing injury to a child, assault family and evading arrest charges while his brother is charged with hindering apprehension.

Investigators said police arrested the baby boy's mother on a failure to report child abuse charge.

Luna remains in custody at the Willacy County Jail under $81,000 dollars in bonds.
