Memorial service planned for former KGBT personality

A memorial service have been planned for former KGBT-TV on-air personality, Johnny Goodman.

The service will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday in the Texan Room at Golden Palms, 2101 Treasure Hills Drive in Harlingen.

It will be open to the public.

Goodman was 87-years young, and left a legacy in the Harlingen community.

He worked for KGBT in the late 1950's and stayed for more than 30 years.

During his tenure, he did many things at the television station including serving as the Programming Director.

He was also the face of KGBT's popular Winter Texan report and was a well-known radio personality.

Funeral arrangements are still pending.

Goodman leaves behind his wife Betty and three children, Johnny, Jeannie and Linda, and a host of grandchildren.
